Following a detailed review, the Project Team has taken the decision to place the Foxdale Battery Energy Storage project on indefinite pause. 

We have listened closely to the views of the local community. However, this decision is based on a combination of factors, including ongoing uncertainty about whether the local electricity network can accommodate a connection in the near future. 

This was a difficult decision. Battery energy storage is a vital part of the UK’s transition to a cleaner, more secure energy system. It helps to balance supply and demand, reduces reliance on fossil fuels, and supports the integration of renewable energy. Elmya Energy remains committed to accelerating the uptake of clean energy for future generations.
